When I read the Bible this morning, 1 Corinthians 6:12 jumped out at me.
Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not be mastered by anything. (ISV)
Although the main point of 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 pertains to sexual conduct, I think we can apply it also to every freedom we have in Christ, including eating and food.

Eating Freedom (my paraphrase)
I can eat anything and everything I want, yet not all foods are nutritious, tasty, or helpful at the moment. I can eat anytime I want, yet I will not abuse the pleasure of eating by making it the focus of life.
Blessing and Not Harm
Partaking of a meal is a daily reminder of God’s provision for us, not the struggle I sometimes turn it into. Bon Appetit!
Dawn warms my curtains.
Pleasant hints of toast and coffee
Wake me with a kiss.

Good point about what is permitted, and what is actually good for us. Food can be the bane of my existence, I love your haiku. Very good!
Lovely post. I hadn’t thought of that verse as applying to eating, but it seems very apropos!
I enjoyed the haiku, too!
What gracious comments! Thank you, Carolyn and Laurie.
